Donations - Benzie Community Services Home Health Care - "Caring About People"
There is no cost for any of our services, although monetary donations for our services are suggested and welcomed. No one is denied service due to inability to pay. Donations are tax-deductible.
Operating funds come from foundations and grants as well as donations by churches, clients, community members, memorials, health agencies and community organizations. Additional revenues are generated through the annual Walk-A-Thon fundraiser.

The 26th Annual Benzie County Walk-A-Thon will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 2006. The event benefits the Benzie Community Services Home Health Care agency. The Walk-A-Thon is sponsored by the Benzie County Ministerial Association. Pastor Jim Petteys is Chair for the 2006 Walk-A-Thon. Joggers, bikers, roller-bladers, etc. are also invited to participate.
The Walk-A-Thon will begin with registration at the Frankfort's Seventh St. beach park on Crystal Lake (a change from recent years). Walkers are invited to register and to begin walking anytime between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., walking east along South Shore Drive, up Lobb Road for a short distance (this leg of the route may be excluded), and returning along the same route to the registration site, a total distance of six miles.
Arrangements can also be made for walkers who prefer to walk the former route along the north shore of Crystal Lake from Beulah Park to the Crystal View Restaurant location. Anyone wanting to go this 12-mile route must contact Pastor Jim Petteys (352-7521) prior to the Walk-A-Thon.
There will be water and banannas available at each check point (approximately every mile) and the restrooms at the registration site are available for use. Refreshments will also be provided for walkers at the registration site following their return. For those who do not walk the full distance someone will drive them back to the beginning location.
Neither the Benzie County Ministerial Association nor Benzie Home Health Care will accept responsibility for any injuries or illness that may be incurred as a result of participation in the Walk-A-Thon.
First-time walkers and workers who participate in the 2006 Walk-A-Thon will receive the gift of a t-shirt with the Walk-A-Thon logo displayed on it. The walkers and workers who participated in the 2005 Walk-A-Thon are asked to wear the t-shirts they received at that time in this year's event.
