Who Are We? Benzie Home Health Care is part of Benzie Community Services, a private non-profit social agency for the elderly in Benzie County. The agency was established in 1975. Operating funds come partly from donations by churches, clients, community members, memorials, Office of Services to the Aging, Council on Aging, Community Chest, Rotary and the annual Walk-A-Thon. Contract and grants with the Area Agency on Aging and Northern Health Care Management provide the balance of the funds.
Who Do We Serve? If you are 60 years of age or older, a resident of Benzie County and need personal assistance to remain safely in your home, but don't require the intensive care and treatment of an institution, we can help.
What Services Do We Offer? Home health care, respite care, telephone reassurance, in-home helpers, equipment loan closet. Anyone may contact us during office hours regarding the referral of a client to our agency. The Home Health Care staff consists of one R.N. and five aides. The staff is on 24-hour call.
What is the Cost? There is no cost for any of our services, although donations for our services are suggested and welcomed (donations are tax-deductible). Director and Staff: Denise Strom has recently taken on the responsibilities as Director.. Staffing consists of a secretary, an R.N. and five aides. The health care staff is on 24-hour call.
Volunteers: There are 14 volunteers. Two of the volunteers provide office services, one provides bookkeeping services and 11 provide telephone reassurance services.
